Exhibition – The Binche Carnival: 10 years of UNESCO recognition (BRUXELLES)

Dive into the heart of exceptional folklore and the world or a real symbol: the Gille, “King of the carnival”. In Brussels from 01/02 to 09/03/14.Discover some 40 photographs taken by the International Carnival and Mask museum of Binche’s photographer, Olivier Desart, as well as various objects linked to carnival.The collection will reveal the passion tied to this expression of heritage which makes it an exceptional moment of conviviality.You will also be able to learn more about the wonderful work of the artisan craftsmen and women who transfer their know-how from generation to generation.A film will play alongside the exhibition.The exhibition is taking place to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the recognition of the Binche carnival as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
